Digital Sustainability: Rhesis Green Label

Rhesis Green Label: International Standard for Digital Sustainability

The Rhesis Green Label project defines sustainability and performance parameters for a conscious web. Our goal is to promote websites that meet technical efficiency thresholds designed to reduce global energy impact through Digital Quality.

The project was conceived by SEO consultant Giacomo Gallo, developed in collaboration with Ieros web agency and under the scientific direction of IrisForm, an independent non-profit research institute focused on digital ethics and quality. It addresses a concrete problem: the web's growing energy footprint. Every poorly optimized page consumes more server resources, more bandwidth, and more energy. The Green Label sets a measurable, verifiable standard to counter this trend.

While web-agency.one continues to showcase digital excellence across international markets, the official technical hub and the validation processes are managed by the Rhesis FM infrastructure — a global-oriented search engine built around the principles of Digital Quality and environmental sustainability.

Validation Criteria

Validation is performed by analyzing the website's technical parameters. To achieve recognition, a site must demonstrate a minimum standard of 60/100 in every single area (Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, SEO), on both Mobile and Desktop configurations. This ensures a structurally optimized website that measurably reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions from data loading.

Validated sites are included in the official Rhesis Observatory, receive priority indexing in the Rhesis FM search engine under the Digital Quality section, and earn the right to display the official Rhesis Green Label badge.

Monitoring and Compliance

Inclusion in the Rhesis FM search engine under the Digital Quality section is subject to periodic audits. Sites that fail to maintain the 60/100 threshold are notified to restore technical parameters within 30 days to avoid revocation.

Ethical Policy

Inclusion is strictly reserved for businesses operating with respect for the environment and professional ethics. Applications will not be accepted from companies involved in deforestation, animal testing (vivisection), intensive farming, or those with legal convictions related to environmental issues.
